Strategies for Success in Academia Assignment Discussion

A brief description of at least one strategy you have used in the past (academically or professionally) that was advantageous in empowering you in terms of one or more of the following skill sets: planning, time management, studying, and effective technology use. Then identify a strategy that you have not yet tried and explain how this strategy may be beneficial, given your strengths and any potential areas of improvement. Be specific and provide examples.

The strategy that I found was beneficial in my academic career is time management. Strategies for Success This aided in being prepared for the classes I was taking and proved effective for I have attained a 3.9 grade point average at my last college institution. It helps me in setting a strict guideline for completing my assignments. I would take my time to read the syllabus for assignments due for the week prior and immediately start to work on them.

Furthermore, I find it helpful when I work ahead of time that if an obstacle comes my way at least I know that my assignment is completed and turned in. It has not been easy to do so for that was a skill I attained in college after being stressed out or rushing to get an assignment completed in with was subpar work. In order to be successful, one must be prepared, and I learned that my time management skills needed some tuning up. Each & every student should have time management ability which includes setting goals & priorities, using time management mechanism (such as makingĀ  and being organized in using time

Another strategy that I can add is planning. In order to be successful, most students need to plan and prioritize their academics with the rest of their responsibilities (Ahrens et al.,2019). Moreover, being a wife, mother, and caregiver, I must plan accordingly so I can achieve success in academia. Conversely, an inability to properly prioritize and plan a schedule may lead to student distraction and neglect of demands (Ahrens et al.,2019). I have tried multiple times to plan accordingly but it sometimes is not effective, and I run into issues because of it. I easily get distracted with social media. Prioritizing and planning ahead can help decrease the amount of procrastination and allow for students to balance their workload (Ahrens et al.,2019). That is my kryptonite unfortunately and this time I want to be extremely focused by adding planning to my strategy.
